Het boek Valsheid in gesteente over de geraffineerde steentijdvervalsingen door amateur-archeologen Ad Wouters en Tjerk Vermaning verscheen in 2022 en oogstte veel reacties. Uit de vakwereld kwamen enkele opmerkelijke commentaren die om een weerwoord vragen. Opvallend is dat de gehanteerde argumenties in deze reacties ondeugdelijk zijn.
Dit was eerder ook al het geval bij publicaties over de omstreden danseres van Geldrop en de danser van Wanssum die daarmee onterecht als authentieke steentijdkunst worden gezien.
